Adoptee Mentoring Society – Website Design & Copywriting for a National Nonprofit
The Challenge
Adoptee Mentoring Society exists to connect adoptees with trained mentors who share lived adoption experiences, providing guidance, understanding, and support throughout every stage of the adoptee journey.
While the organization's mission was deeply meaningful, their previous website wasn't effectively communicating the impact of their work. The outdated design, difficult navigation, and unclear messaging made it challenging for visitors to understand how the mentorship program worked, who it was for, or why it was so valuable.
The goal was to create a website that would immediately build trust, clearly explain the mentorship model, and encourage more adoptees, parents, and supporters to engage with the organization. Beyond the design itself, the project also required a complete content strategy and copywriting overhaul to better tell the organization's story and guide visitors toward taking action.

The Approach
Working closely with Angela and the Adoptee Mentoring Society team, the website was redesigned from the ground up to create an experience that feels welcoming, compassionate, and credible while making complex information easy to understand.
In addition to designing the website, I developed the site's messaging and wrote the new copy to better communicate the organization's mission, mentorship process, and the life-changing impact of connecting adoptees with mentors who share similar lived experiences.
